                Social Mediaing In 2018

Taking about social media platforms and the impacts it has brought in almost each and every person’s life in your family, it has made it easier for us to make friends and the new friendship is giving  problematic impacts which are hard to be faced. There are majority of people using the same social media platforms you are using. In instance some of the social media platforms you are using and the friends you have, you may only be knowing a couple of them.
Social media platforms are quite attractive and we spend most of our day surfing on platforms and making new friends. Predators new to social media take advantage of the new technology handing out information that is supposed to be kept private as well as the new friends made online and the new friendship is having problematic impacts. Children should be:

Careful when giving out information- We sign away our privacy in exchange for the conveniences of modern living, giving cooperation access to information about our financial circumstances and our spending habits, which will then be used to target us for ads or to analyze our consumer habits.” (page 425). It shows how much we may be loving things and how we are ready let go things maybe just cause you want someone to know your desire life or what you have and this turn out to be a disadvantage.

Most children spend their day surfing on social media New social predators are not aware of what to be considering while making friends on social media. They are overwhelmed with the new features which are persuasive to hand out information.  In many cases parents tend to be the root cause by providing source materials to their children that lead them to social media platforms. While at the same time children are not aware of:

Knowing What To Post- “ Limit The amount of personal information you post”. For example- posting things such as your current status every day you are likely to be spammed easily and will be found by a stalker in a short time.

Assertive and Skeptical - It has been a trend where so many children post their friends pictures on birthdays and the pictures are vague and an appropriate to be shown on social media. Many children don not feel comfortable about it and are not able to speak about it. Children are not aware about how many people are using the same social platforms they are using as well.  “We aren’t born with full social awareness, and Dunbar fears that too much virtual interaction may subvert that education. (Page 239-Dunbar).

Sometimes children make it difficult for parents when it comes to pushing their children away from social media because of what they have to face. For example, when a child posts something related to parents privacy. Children are using contents which are not appropriate for them and not their age.

Socializing- Most children of the present generation are spending time socializing electronically more rather than physically. They are not able to get the chance to know someone in person and blindly trusting friendships that are made over social media. "We underestimate how important touch is in the world”. (Page 238).

Children should be guided on using social media while they allow their children to  use the social media platforms. As well as should be aware of what their children post online because parents are the root cause of some issues dealing with privacy being leaked.
